Nepal is set to face Oman in the second match of the Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024 at Maple Leaf North-West Ground, King City, on Sunday, September 29.
The tri-series also features hosts Canada, who are off to a winning start after defeating Nepal in the opening match. Nepal, led by captain Rohit Paudel, faced a 14-run loss in the first game on Saturday, amidst the devastating floods in Bagmati Province, Nepal, which have claimed 129 lives with 66 people still missing. Paudel’s team now aims to lift the spirits of their fans with a strong performance in their next game.
In the opener, Nepal restricted Canada to 123/8 in 20 overs, thanks to brilliant bowling from Sompal Kami and Sandeep Lamichhane, who both claimed three wickets. However, Nepal’s batting faltered as Kaleem Sana tore through the top order and Saad Bin Zafar wrecked the middle, leaving Nepal all out for 109. Rohit Paudel was the standout performer with the bat, scoring 37 runs.
