Nepal’s national cricket team fast bowler, Sompal Kami, recently appeared on the set of Comedy Darbar to introduce his NPL franchise team, Karnali Yaks, and share insights about their aspirations for the upcoming season.
On Saturday, Sompal Kami, along with fellow cricketers Rit Gautam and Mausam Dhakal, spoke about Karnali Yaks and their determination to clinch the title. During the event, Sompal, the marquee player, expressed his excitement to be a part of the team and reaffirmed their goal of stepping onto the field with a winning mindset.
“The Karnali Yaks team will play with a focus on victory. Each match we play, we play to win. Every team is strong, but performing well on the day is what matters most in T20 cricket,” Sompal said. “It’s a fast-paced game, and results can be unpredictable, but Karnali Yaks is well-prepared and confident.”

He also voiced optimism about Nepal’s national cricket team’s potential for achieving great results in the future. Sompal is joined by other notable players in Karnali Yaks, such as Gulshan Jha, Dev Khanal, and Nandan Yadav in the ‘A’ category, while the ‘B’ category includes players like Arjun Gharti, Rit Gautam, Mausam Dhakal, and Bhuvan Karki. The ‘C’ category players are Dipendra Rawat, Yunis Bikram Singh Thakuri, and Deepak Dumre.
The Karnali Yaks have also signed three international players: Chadwick Walton from the West Indies, all-rounder Mohammad Hussain Talat from Pakistan, and Babar Hayat from Hong Kong.
In addition, Karnali Yaks has partnered with Hotel Hilton as their hospitality partner. The Nepal Premier League is set to take place from November 30 to December 21.
